The Call to Worship and Invocation

O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. This is the day that the Lord has made.  We will rejoice and be glad in it.  Amen.

Morning Hymn --  Have a Little Talk with Jesus

Performed by Pastor Jerome Jackson

Gloria Patri

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost.  As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end.  Amen.

The Apostles' Creed

I believe in God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth. And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried;

The third day he rose from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of  God the Father Almighty, from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead.  I believe in the Holy Ghost, the Holy Catholic Church, the Communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting.  Amen.

Scripture Reading --

II Corinthians 4:1-6 KJV  (3rd Sunday Epiphany Season)

1Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not;

2But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.

3But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:

4In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

5For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the LORD; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake.

6For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

Dear Heavenly Father,

It is once more and again that a few of your humble servants gather around this virtual throne to say, "Thank You."  We  thank you for your continued blessings and gift of life to us.

We are thankful for the new leadership in our country and ask that you lead, guide, and protect them in their  efforts to serve your people.  It is only through your divine guidance that they will be able to help tame the meanness of our government, its divisive structure and its cunning ldemonic representatives.  Look into the hearts of all those who serve and give them a spirit of compassion towards all people.

Father, are sorry for those sins that we have committed against Thee and ask that you will forgive us.

We earnestly pray for those who are sick, those who are living on the margins of life, and those who do not know you in the pardon of their sins.  It is our sincere prayer that You will give them the things that they so desperately stand in need, for all healing is in your hands, and the cattle on a thousand hills is yours.

We lift up our prayer warrior, Rev. Veronica Buckner and all of your servants that have been called to preach your Word in this time of crisis and woe in the world.

Lord, please intervene and hold our Church family together; give us a mind to stand together and serve you.  Bless Pastor Rogers as he labors to do Your will and to lead and guide us in accordance with Your Word.  We pray and ask these blessings in the matchless, wonderful name of Your Son, Jesus Christ.  Amen.

The Sermonic Scripture - Ephesians 4:1 and 22-32

1 I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,

22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;

23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;

24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

25 Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.

26 Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:

27 Neither give place to the devil.

28 Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.

29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

31 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:

32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.
